 Book Division Lead – Dr. Rhoyda Nyambane

Dr Nyambane holds the following academic credentials:

  • A doctor of philosophy, (PhD), in Mass Communication from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, (JKUAT);
  • A Masters of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the
    University of Nairobi;
  • A Bachelor of Art degree in Sociology and Linguistics from
    the University of Nairobi;
  • A post-graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of
    Nairobi;

Dr Nyambane is a communications specialist with over twenty years’ experience with special focus on, development communication; editing for print and electronic media; report- writing skills; public relations with a cutting edge in writing, editing and publishing; and gender/child/human rights issues. She is proficient in communications advisory; media liaison; communication research and institutional development.

Dr Nyambane has worked in the following institutions:

  • Technical University of Kenya where she is currently a Senior lecturer, Journalism and Media Studies at the School of Information and Communication Studies;
  • Africa Nazarene University in Kenya as a lecturer;
  • The Pan Africa Christian University;
  • Eve Magazine of the Standard Newspapers a feature’s writer;
  • All Africa Conference of Churches, (AACC), as a Communications and Advocacy director;
  • The University Press as an Editor;
  • The Center for Disease Control (CDC);
  • The CRADLE, The Children Foundation and the Association of Media Women In Kenya, (AMWIK) as a consultant;

Dr. Nyambane is widely published in refereed and academic journals and contributed to several book chapters. She is a member of the Association of Media Women in Kenya, (AMWIK).
